Dr. Painter has served as the director of medical education for two large urban teaching hospitals for more than 23 years and was the founding executive director of the Dayton Area Graduate Medical Education Consortium. He has chaired the Graduate Medical Education Committee, organized the only National Conference of GME Consortia, and led the Ohio Council of Teaching Hospitals Conference on Physician Workforce Issues. In addition, he has a broad interest in faculty development that includes creating physician leadership courses and onboarding
processes. He is an expert on GME financing, institutional accreditation, hospital GME operations, GME collaborative initiatives, and faculty development. In 2014, he launched Wright Medical Education Consultants, which offers consulting services to institutions sponsoring medical education programs.
