For those who plan to travel outside the United States, Wright State Physicians Family Medicine now offers travel education and immunization services at the Wright State Physicians Health Center (725 University Blvd.) on the campus of Wright State University.
Wright State Physicians provides travel vaccines, medicines and safety tips. “Whether you are traveling for business, school or pleasure, Wright State Physicians Family Medicine can help you with your international health care needs,” said Scott Newman, CNP, director of the travel clinic. “We can provide you with information about how to stay healthy and protect yourself against insect-borne diseases and food and water illnesses.”
Travelers should contact Wright State Physicians Family Medicine at least four to six weeks before their trips. This will allow enough preparation time for safe and healthy travels.
When calling for an appointment, travelers should provide country of destination, length of trip and types of activities e.g., meetings, volunteer work, hiking and touring. At their appointment, they should be prepared to discuss medical history, vaccine history and current medical state. They also should discuss any allergies, current medications or any other health concerns.
