Wright State Physicians Orthopaedics to offer educational session about ankle arthritis at Wright State Physicians Health Center

ankle arthritis imageWright State Physicians Orthopaedics will offer an educational session, “Ankle Arthritis,” on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 7 p.m., in Classroom 1 on the second floor of the Wright State Physicians Health Center (725 University Blvd.) on the campus of Wright State University. The session is free and open to the public.

The speaker is Michael Barnett Jr., M.D., assistant professor and director of undergraduate orthopaedic education with Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation. He will discuss the common causes of ankle arthritis, how to recognize signs and symptoms and current nonoperative and operative treatment options.

After earning his Doctor of Medicine from the WSU Boonshoft School of Medicine, Barnett completed his residency at Akron General Hospital in Akron, Ohio, and a fellowship in orthopaedic foot and ankle surgery at Portland Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Center in Portland, Maine. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
