Reconstructive Services
- Breast Reconstruction/Reduction
The division of plastic surgery at Wright State University provides a full range of breast reconstructive services including advanced techniques such as microsurgical free flaps and immediate implant reconstruction with acellular dermal matrix to eliminate the need for tissue expansion in selected cases. We also offer standard implant and flap reconstruction as well as breast reduction for back pain.
- Microsurgical Free Flaps
We also provide microsurgical reconstruction of the head and neck, trunk and extremities for defects caused by tumor, trauma or infection.
- Skin Cancer/Skin Lesion
Excision of skin cancers and lesions are frequently performed. Reconstruction of these defects may be performed with skin grafts or flaps when required.
- Hand Surgery
We have extensive experience in nerve compression syndromes, such as carpal or cubital tunnel syndrome. Repair of tendons and nerves due to trauma as well as digital sympathectomy for Raynaud’s disease are performed.
- Burn Reconstruction
Dr. Johnson has extensive experience in burns and burn reconstruction. He has served as associate medical director of the Adult Regional Burn Center at Miami Valley Hospital. He served on burn reconstruction mission trips to Vietnam with Operation Smile.
